Northern Alligator Lizard
Hi! My name's Walker. The animal I have decided to study for my behavioral ecology project is the Northern Alligator Lizard. I chose this little creature because lizards have always fascinated me and there is actually a lizard colony up on the hill behind my house. The habitat of the lizards I am observing is dense with foliage, tall grass, and dirt in a mediterranean climate. One interesting observation thus far is that the lizards can actually detach their tails at the sign of a threat, creating a distraction for the predator as the lizard escapes. As for interesting things about me, I am a member and creative director of a hip-hop dance company. Good luck to everyone with their projects!
