2. How do you like spending your free time?
3. What are some of your possible careers when you grow up?
Through this blog, students from Charles Mbuto's science class at Daraja Academy in Nanuyki, Kenya and Mark Stefanski's Advanced Biology sections at Marin Academy in San Rafael, CA can interact and share thoughts and ideas as they study the natural world. As you observe and experiment with the behavior of your chosen species, feel free to post any and all of your techniques, methods, problems, successes, and theories. When you love mother nature, she loves you in return!
Hi Joyce
ReplyDeleteMy name is Tory. Sorry that I am posting from Ross' log in, but mine is not working. Anyway, my favorite novels are "Catcher in the Rye" by J.D. Salinger and "The History of Love" by Nicole Krauss. During my free time I really like to play water polo, which is a sport played in water. There are teams of seven people and you have to swim and pass the ball to one another in order to score a goal against the other team. It is really fun! I also, love to sing. I sing all the time- in the shower, walking to school, doing homework, and during any free time I have. Other than singing and water polo, I love spending time with my friends and family. I love laughing, eating and talking.
When I grow up I really want to be a music therapist. I want to be a doctor for children who are mentally ill and use music as a learning tool. Music is known to help with communication, memory and relaxation, so I am trying to combine my two passions, music and communication, into one profession!
So, I have some questions for you!
1. What is your family like? Do you have any brothers and sisters?
2. What is your favorite class in school?
3. If you could travel to any country in the world, where would you want to go? Why would you want to go there?
4. If you were trapped on an island and could only bring 3 things, what would you bring?
Hey Joyce!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie right now is Spirited Away. It is an artistically animated movie with an extremely creative story line. During my free time, I like to go rock climbing. I go bouldering as much as possible. Bouldering is where you climb smaller rocks (up to 30 ft.) without any ropes. Lots of times, you climb on horizontal rock faces and use really small hand holds. This has been my passion for a few years. My other passion, like Tory, is singing and also playing piano. I love songwriting and have been playing and singing in bands all throughout high school. When I'm not doing these two things, I love spending time with friends and going on hikes or adventures in the beautiful nature that surrounds us! When I grow up, I'm not sure what I want to do, but I know that I want to work towards benefiting other people as well as the earth. One possibility right now is being an environmental scientist.
Now, to add to Tory's list of questions, here are a few more.
1. What is your favorite animal?
2. If you could be extremely good at a musical instrument, which would it be?
